What is the muffler?

Signs you have a problem with the muffler

Crush-bend

This type of bend is used on standard factory-made systems and also in some aftermarket system. This type of method forms a crinkled area in the pipes, which reduces the diameter and slows the exhaust gases.

Mandrel bend

This type is smooth, so the pipe remains at a consistent diameter through the bend. The process creates less resistance, so you get more efficient airflow and better performance.

Unlike the factory exhaust systems, which are made of mild steel, the quality aftermarket systems are made of stainless steel. Mild steel can deteriorate over time while stainless steel offers better longevity. Stainless systems are made to last for a long time.
